In 1993, Ronnie Gladden opened Gladden Auto Sales with a simple approach to doing business: treat people honestly, sell dependable vehicles, and build relationships that last. More than 30 years later, Ronnie is still at the heart of the dealership, continuing to work directly with customers every day.
Before opening Gladden Auto Sales, Ronnie spent 22 years working at Westinghouse’s Columbia facility, where nuclear fuel rods are manufactured. That experience helped shape the straightforward, hardworking approach he still brings to the dealership today.
Ronnie is known for being honest, straightforward, friendly, and no-pressure. His approach is very old-school: when customers come to Gladden Auto Sales, they deal directly with the person who can make the decisions. There isn't a long chain of people to go through or someone waiting to get approval from someone else.
For Ronnie, selling a vehicle has never been just about completing a transaction. He enjoys finding the right cars, meeting customers, and especially helping people who may genuinely need a dependable vehicle. He believes that selling someone their first vehicle isn't what proves you've done things right. It's when that same customer comes back to buy their second vehicle that Ronnie knows he has taken care of them the way he should.
That philosophy has helped create the family feel that has always been part of Gladden Auto Sales. Ronnie wants customers to feel like they're dealing with people who genuinely care about them, not simply someone trying to just sell a car.
Outside of the dealership, Ronnie enjoys spending time with family, his church, Gamecock football, Yankee baseball, and, of course, sports cars.
After more than three decades in the business, Ronnie's approach remains the same: be honest, take care of people, and earn their trust. For him, that's what makes a successful dealership, and that's what Gladden Auto Sales has been built on since 1993.
